About

Minh Tue (birth name Le Anh Tu) is a Vietnamese ascetic practitioner. According to Vietnamese government notices, he walked the length of Vietnam and back three times between 2017 and 2023; a fourth walk in 2024 became a social-media phenomenon. He is not a monk of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (letter 151/HĐTS-VP1, May 16, 2024), and he has said he never claimed to be one. On December 12, 2024 he left Vietnam through the Bờ Y border crossing; the group reached Bodh Gaya, India, in April 2025 and Lumbini, Nepal, in September 2025.

In May 2024 he told the press that he accepts no money in any form (VietNamNet, May 17, 2024). We have found no official channel announced by him or the group, so treat any appeal for money in his name as a scam.

A handwritten letter signed in his name, published on November 13, 2024, asked people not to film or photograph him and post it online; its authenticity has been questioned.
